Vintage that’s what I do I play bass and I know things shirt

I started playing bass because of Vintage that’s what I do I play bass and I know things shirt like no one else at the time. He played melodies, counterpoint, and harmony lines and lines that seemingly came out of nowhere. Check out his descending bass line in “All My Loving.” It’s PERFECT. It descends as the vocal ascends and it takes real genius to nail that kind of counterpoint. Paul had turned 21 the month before they recorded it. “Day Tripper.” The killer bass line that rumbles like a gorilla and kicks major A. “A Day in the Life.” It’s so welded to Ringo’s rolls and downbeat that it might as well be the product of a single two-headed mutant. Ditto “Come Together.” NO ONE has ever gotten that line quite right. Tom Hamilton from Aerosmith came really close but the feel, that magic funk is missing in his version, probably because Joey Kramer and Ringo Starr are radically different drummers.
